This is part of the Utopia WIKI Mini Guide Series. |
|
This guide was written by referring to previous hostile situations on the World of Legends as well as the Genesis server.
- NB It has been said (hasn't been checked) that the hostile meter on WoL and Genesis differ in terms of points required to declare war.

Significance of the Hostile Meter
For two kingdoms to gain the ability to declare war on one another:
- The kingdoms must be at least unfriendly on one side and hostile on the other.
If this condition is met, the kingdom which has the lower hostile meter will then receive the option to declare war.
Attacks and How they Move the Meter
Different successful attack types add to the hostile meter at varying levels of intensity. In Normal Stance, the attacks add to the meter according to the figures given below. In Aggressive Stance, attacks add twice as much to the meter (e.g. a Traditional March in Aggressive would add 4 points to the meter, as opposed to 2 point in normal stance). The meter does not have a cap.
Traditional Marches
Traditional Marches add 2 point to the hostile meter per hit.
Razes, Plunders, Massacres,Learns, Ambush, Conquest and Bounces
Al these attacks add 1 point to the meter, as long as the off/def ratio exceeds .85 (.5 for conquest).
Declaring War & Maxing the Meter
When a party hits up to 7.5 points they become hostile to the kingdom which they hit. Unfriendly status requires 2.5 points to achieve.
At each day change (it's been reported to happen on the tick between the 23rd and 24th), both hostile meters decay by one sixth (16.6667%) or 1 point, whichever is greater.
Example: Declaration Kingdom Realest hits Kingdom Bishop with 7 traditional marches and 5 plunders in Normal stance (9.5 points). Kingdom Bishop hits Kingdom Realest in return with 3 plunders in Aggressive stance (1*3 = 3 points). In this situation, Kingdom Bishop may declare war on Kingdom Realest.
When the Utopian month changes from 24th to the 1st, 15% decays from Realest's meter and 1 point from Bishop's meter, making it 8.075 (Realest) to 2 (Bishop). At this point, War cannot be declared but Bishop has the ability to use unfriendly ops on Realest such as Meteor Showers, Incite Riots, and cast Fireballs. Realest is unable to conduct unfriendly ops against Bishop.
Example: Maxing the Meter So Realest's big brother is unhappy with Bishop and comes alone. His kingdom, Kingdom Shockwave sends 30 traditional marches into Bishop, in aggressive stance (30*2 = 60 points). Bishop decides to forgo Kingdom Realest. So Bishop switches to aggressive stance and retals Shockwave with 30 traditional marches in Aggressive, on the same day.
This means the hostile meter is at 60 points to 60 points, and neither kingdom has the button.
The first kingdom to hit at the day change will automatically give the war button away to the other.
