m (Ending a War)
Line 1: Line 1:
In a world where battle is a common occurance, it appears natural that at times strife between kingdoms will increase. Attacks increase the level of conflict between two kingdoms and continued conflict will raise your relations with a kingdom to Unfriendly and then to Hostile. Sometimes, a kingdom will receive the option to Declare War on another which is strongly hostile to them. If declared, war will commence immediately, but the bonuses and drawbacks slowly go into effect over the course of the first 24 hours of war. War is designed to allow kingdoms to enter a mutual conflict with limited interference from other kingdoms. When in war, '''all''' other diplomatic relations cease for the duration of the war. War will last for no less than 48 hours. Two kingdoms' Monarchs may also agree to a mutual Ceasefire at any time. Ceasefires can be cancelled at any time but can serve to cease hostilities between kingdoms.

War can only be halted through Diplomatic decisions by the Kingdoms' Monarchs. War can be ended in one of two ways. In both of these cases, neither kingdom may have any relations for one Utopian month after the war ends, and will be placed in an automatic 24 hour end of war ceasefire. Both kingdoms will remain in war relations during this time, continuing the protections from outside interference while the war concludes and each party rebuilds. The kingdoms can then choose if they want to exit the war or stay for an additional 24 hours (independent of each other). Each side will also receive +200% birth rates during this postwar baby boom.

  • Prohibits any Attacks, Spells, or Thief Ops between kingdoms

Unfriendly

  • Unlocks certain spells and thievery operations

Hostile

Starting a War

Upon reaching Hostile relations, the Monarch of the non-hostile kingdom will receive the option to Declare War. This is known as the War Button. If the monarch chooses to war, certain effects are immediately applied, while others slowly take effect; rising to their maximum potential over a 24 hour period.

Ending a War

Only the Kingdoms' Monarch is able to end a war. This is accomplished in one of two ways: Mutual Peace or Withdrawal. Either choice results in an end-of-war ceasefire.

Mutual Peace

This option requires consent by both parties and simply settles the war with no winner. This is an excellent option when both kingdoms simply lose interest in the war or find it more beneficial to simply move on.

Withdrawal

Once the minimum time limit is reached, either kingdom can withdraw from war.

After withdrawing, the losing kingdom's total honor is reduced by 3%. This lost honor is evenly distributed between the winning kingdom's provinces. Withdrawals can only occur if the withdrawing kingdom has not committed any attacks within the past two Utopian Days. Withdrawing rewards the opposing kingdom with a war win that will show on their kingdom page.

End-of-War Ceasefire

After a war ends, neither kingdom may have any relations for an Utopian Month and are automatically placed in a 24 hour end-of-war ceasefire. During the ceasefire both kingdoms remain in war relations, thus retaining the protection benefits while rebuilding. After 24 hours, the kingdoms have the choice either to end the ceasefire or to wait an additional 24 hours. This choice is independent of the other kingdom.

During this ceasefire, both sides benefit from +200% birth rates.

War Forum

Shortly after declaring war, a temporary Forum is created. This is known as the War Forum.

In the War Forum provinces from either kingdom can interact by starting new threads or posting in existing ones. Provinces are expected to interact respectfully. Any offending material can be removed by either kingdom's monarch.
