Exploration

Via the Explore page, a province may send out soldiers, at the cost of gc, to acquire additional acres.

Restrictions

The following restrictions are in place:

• Provinces may not explore without the resources to cover the costs.
• At least 50% of existing acres must be built upon or undergoing construction.
• A Province must have at least one Exploration Leader before conducting exploration.
• The Explore Pool must be greater than 0 acres.

Effects of War on Exploration

The following penalties apply during war:

• Exploration costs increase by 100%
• Traditional March attacks from an enemy kingdom take 10% of their gains from the Explore Pool.

Exploration Leaders

The Exploration Leaders are in place to restrict the abuse of a bug whereby exploring 1 acre at a time would cause all acres to arrive earlier than if explored in one batch. Each province is allocated 50 Exploration Leaders and they are consumed one at a time per batch of acres explored, returning once the exploration is finished. They do not take up Networth, or contribute to population in any way.
